A memorable home and lifestyle swap!
Nestled on the slopes of the ancient hill town of Moratella is the sensitively and artistically restored, 17th century home of Angela & Cliff. In the house, every day seemed to reveal a new artistic or design feature, which escaped first glance, and the top floor terrace was a practical and prominent feature of a relaxed holiday. The Tapas town, as we will now remember it, is full of local opportunities to stroll round for a laid-back evening away from the cooker. Further afield, Murcia, Spain’s 7th city, and Cartegena, with its Roman amphitheatre and beautiful waterfront, provided stimulating outings. Just 12 mins drive away there were outdoor swimming opportunities at Camping La Puerta. Our stay in Moratalla opened up a carefree experience to fuel our holiday memories of a restful and atmospheric hill top experience. Thank you both.
Lovely Spanish character home.
Authentic Spain
We enjoyed a unique stay in an authentic Spanish town, thanks to the tips by Cliff and Angela on managing the heat (milder but still warm in September), on eating out and on visiting interesting nearby towns. A general tip from us to future exchangers: rent a small car and practise some uphill walking. Knowing a bit of Spanish also helps. Our communication with Cliff and Angela before and during our exchange went smooth, and was very helpfull.

Our exchange home was an absolute delight. It has been beautifully renovated and kept us entranced as we noticed more and more detail.It is set in a little square in the old town of Moratalla. Our walks around the tiny streets and views from the church and castle were amazing. The countryside around is definitely worth a tour, especially the nearby towns. We loved Caravaca. and a trip to the coast is a must.
Nice stay in Moratalla at Angela and Cliff from their house which is like the bow of a boat between Santa Anna Square and a pitorresque alley, we have been on the balcony to attend unexpected parties like Santa Anna. Village where people are very welcoming . We were at the right time to live the Bull Festival in this pretty village. Do not miss the visit of the chateau to and neighboring towns like Murcia and Lorca.
We were so pleased to have a chance to stay in Clifford and Angela's charming house in this lovely unspoiled little working town. We absolutely loved the central old town location, being able to walk straight of the door out into the narrow lanes and steps up to the church and castle and the gorgeous views. The little outside balcony was just perfect for lazy reading, when we'd had enough of the sun! Clifford and Angela were there to greet us, and were the perfect hosts. This was a great stay!
As wonderful stay in an enchanting house!
We really enjoyed our stay in this characterful house and village! Clifford and Angela were delightful hosts, doing everything they could to make our visit really memorable. We loved in particular sitting reading on the corner balcony watching village life on the little streets below. It was joy to be able to walk out of the door and wander around Moratalla, which was also a great centre for trips out to nearby towns. A great holiday!

We could not have wished for anything better, the accommodation was excellent in every respect - so full of character reflecting the owners, Cliff and Angela attention to detail. A great find in a refreshingly part of real Spain. Moratella had lots of interesting streets and buildings to explore, with its many tapis bars and friendly people, was a great central point to explore the surrounding towns and villages, not forgetting the principal city of Mercia itself with its splendid buildings and architecture. No hesitation in recommending the home to others. We wish Cliff and Angela well for the future
