Great Exchange
We had a really good time in Andy and Viv's comfortable and interesting home. It's full of beautiful, quirky and fun pictures and artefacts. Every time we came in we noticed something that we'd not spotted before. Communication was excellent, the house was very well prepared and there was plenty of information about the area. We enjoyed sitting in the peaceful garden and also walking around the small lake just at the end of the road. Quorn is a quiet and attractive village and we found plenty to do in the surrounding area. Andy and Viv were lovely folk to exchange with and we would definitely recommend a stay in their home. Thank you for a great exchange.
We had a very enjoyable time, the house was comfortable and we found it a good base for visiting places of interest in the area. The weather was scheduled to be very rainy but we managed to largely find ourselves indoors during the worst downpours! Charnwood forest and it’s surroundings was really beautiful.
It was such fun to meet our delightful exchangers Andy and Viv for lunch. Their home in Quorn was wonderfully comfortable and easy to live in with everything available for us to use. Truly a home away from home! The village is small and has excellent pub food and coffee shops. A store for basic groceries was within walking distance with larger supermarkets close by. Their home has easy parking outside …a rare feature in these tiny villages and towns. Quorn (name probably derived from old English ‘cweorndun’ meaning where the millstones come from referring perhaps to nearby mount sorrel quarry), has the Grand Union Canal close by for walks, an ancient church and some lovely village sculptures. The village is within easy reach of Leicester and other famous English towns (e.g., Melton Mowbray) so daily excursions into Leicestershire is comfortable and easy. It was a very memorable and happy exchange …thank you both so much!

Peaceful street with easy access to pubs etc
Great location for us. Peaceful street within easy walking to shop, restaurants, pubs etc. Also a lot of paths and green spaces dotted in around the village, to make good walks.
Andy and Viv were excellent exchange partners and the house was spotlessly clean, spacious, attractive and very comfortable. Our hosts had made considerable efforts to make the house very welcoming for us with many thoughtful touches. An amazing amount of useful documentation about the house and its appliances, as well as maps and user manuals, were left for us. Andy and Viv were always very responsive and easy to communicate with. The house is centrally located in a quiet, friendly street in Quorn, a delightful village which has plenty of good shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. It has good bus services and is very close to the large town of Loughborough with many amenities and good rail connections. All in all, a wonderful exchange and highly recommended.
Vacation as we wish it to be
We spent three wonderful weeks in Viv & Andy's house. The house is situated in a small but very lively village in the heart of England. We always felt welcome, there was enough space for us and the children and we could discover a lot with the exchanged car too. London is just an hour away by train and very easy to reach. We can recommend this exchange to anyone who likes to go on a discovery tour, but also appreciates peace and relaxation. Once again special thanks to Viv & Andy, two really nice and helpful homelinkers!
