  • We really enjoyed our stay at Heather and John’s place. It was comfortable and in a very convenient location for accessing the surrounding places of interest. We enjoyed staying in Whakatane - a place we have not visited before and finding the local walks and cycle trails. Thanks for making us so welcome in your home.

  • Beautiful location on the Bay of Plenty

Thank you Heather and John for making us so welcome in your home. We enjoyed your hospitality on our arrival and quickly settled into your comfortable home. The area has many beautiful places to visit and interesting day trips are also possible. A lovely holiday for us! Lynne and Alan

  • Plenty to do in Whakatane and surrounding area, beach, hot pools, some great walks and don't miss the White Island Tour. Thank you Heather and John for comfortable stay.

  • Thanks for everything

Thank you Heather and John for all your efforts in ensuring our exchange with you went smoothly. We enjoyed the opportunity of staying in your spotlessly clean and comfortable home that enabled us to explore a new area in NZ we had never been to before. We also really appreciated the provisions left for us in the fridge at both your home and ours on our return and the Easter treats. It was wonderful to return to our home which was left in an immaculate condition - thanks. Regards, Terri and Hud

  • John and Heather's house in Whakatane was a lovely

John and Heather run a small B&B so we had the very comfortable B&B accommodation plus kitchen and living areas with all the facilities we could possibly need. It was lovely to be able to spend a fortnight getting to know a small New Zealand town in the spring. There are plenty of shops and cafes. There are excellent local walks and viewpoints, a glorious coastline and nearby beaches. Probably the top tourist attraction in the area is the day trip by boat out to the volcanic White Island (weather permitting). The local fruit farms are also worth a visit. We had some longer days eg towards Rotorua and Tauranga, and an overnighter to the East Cape. It was great place to stay for a fortnight and it could have been longer. It was nice to meet up with John and Heather at the start of our stay to be shown around, and good to meet them again when they came here in March. Thanks to them for looking after our house well. it was a pleasure to come back to.
