Great holidays in Oxford
We had a great time in Oxford. Thank you so much for it, Sue and Martin! At the house, we felt at home from the start and we enjoyed the garden as well. The bus stop is just around the corner as well as different supermarkets and other shops and it is not really far from the city center. Oxford is beautiful with the colleges and other old interesting buildings, the covered market and the Harry Potter-spots. We also liked to walk along river Thames and the canal outside of the city and to have lunch or tea at a nice pub or cafe somewhere around. There is so much nature close by! As we swapped cars, we did a trip to lovely Woodstock and Blenheim palace (there is a free entrance to the park). We also took a bus to London once and enjoyed the capital for a day. Thanks that you looked after our house so well. It was a great exchange!
We had a wonderful time in Sue and Martin‘s house! We had everything, we needed and enjoyed the garden and the terrace. Using their bikes we explored Oxford, where is so much to see. We also swapped cars and so we could go to beautiful Cotswolds where we hiked a part of the Cotswoldway. Wonderful! We experienced their very friendly and helpful neighbours. Lots to do in and around Oxford
We had a very enjoyable time in Oxford. The house is about two miles from the centre of Oxford which can be reached by bus from the bottom of the road,or bike or car. There is a pretty garden at the back with chairs. Parking in the brand new large Westgate Centre in Oxford with 100 shops and lots of restaurants is a very reasonable cost. We enjoyed visiting Blenheim, birthplace of Winston Churchill and its large estate, also the centre of Oxford seeing sights such as the Radcliffe camera, the Bridge of Sighs and the Botanic Garden. We also went to Magdalen College (£8 each) with its café with a riverside terrace, cloisters, chapel, water garden and deer park. We visited Christ Church Meadow with the River Thames at the end and the covered market with masses of different types of stalls. We also walked along the River Thames one morning from Port Meadow, and outside of Oxford visited the attractive Waterperry Gardens with café, rural museum and garden centre. There was lots to do for a one week swap. The swap was efficiently arranged with Martin and close to the swap we had more communication with Sue by email and What’s App. Thank you to both for allowing us to stay in your house in the hottest weather ever known in the UK!
A great city break.
We would like to say a big thanks to Sue and Martin for letting us swap to their home in Oxford. The house was well equipped for our family, and ideally situated very close to a bus route into the city. Oxford itself is great to visit with children. There is lots to see and do in the city and surrounding area. Sue and Martin responded helpfully to any queries that we had, and we had good communication before, during and after our trip. Many thanks again to you both.
Great base for exploring Oxford
We really enjoyed our stay in Oxford, with Martin and Sue’s lovely home being the ideal base for exploring the city and the surrounding countryside. Using the bus into the city centre was really easy. We had a good mix of city/cultural activities, and countryside walks, with highlights being the ashmolean museum, history of science museum, Oxford bus tour, walks along the river, and long walks at Hughenden Manor and Blenheim. Thank you Sue and Martin for a lovely exchange!

We've had a fantastic trip, your home made a great base for exploring Oxford, and was an oasis of peace after a busy day sight seeing. Thank you so much for letting us stay, and for looking after our house so well!
We really enjoyed exploring Oxford from Sue and Martin’s house. Having bikes and cycling in to the city on the river each day was great fun and both their house in the evening, and our house on our return, were lovely to come back to. Thankyou very much.
A wonderful holiday!
We have just returned for a fantastic two weeks in Switzerland. Ariane & Christian's house is very comfortable and we were very happy there with views of the mountains all around. It's in a great place for exploring that whole region and what a beautiful region it is! Lots of lovely day trips to gorgeous alpine villages, thermal spas, mountains etc.. We had fabulous weather and made the most of all the swimming lakes and pools. The family are lovely, friendly and very easy to make arrangements with. They looked after our house very well. We have lots of great memories of this trip. Thank you!
