A very beautiful home in a lovely area. The house is comfortable and roomy, with a fabulous garden. Close to many places of interest. We were made to feel very welcome upon our arrival, and recommend this exceptional home to anyone wishing to explore the lovely counties of Kent / East Sussex
Home from home in beautiful Tunbridge Wells
We had a wonderful holiday at Hilary and John's house in Tunbridge Wells over Easter. Their communication before, during and after the exchange was excellent and we knew even before we arrived that everything was going to be tip top. The flowers, groceries and gifts, books, toys and activities they left for us and our girls were a lovely touch and most appreciated. Their home is so welcoming, really spacious and yet cosy, relaxing, super organised and spotless. They had thought of everything and made a big effort in providing us with everything the family needed. We all felt very at home and enjoyed the different areas of the garden, with the lovely fire nook for toasting marshmallows, yum! My favourite place in the house was sitting in the conservatory which is a real sun trap. Tunbridge and the surrounding area is very beautiful and the rocks around the town are really quite spectacular. There is a wealth of activities for all ages and interests locally. We enjoyed The Pantiles, the Spa Valley steam railway ride, many great eateries, indoor and outdoor pool fun in Tonbridge, the lovely Groombridge Enchanted Forest and local walks. It was also a great base for a foray into London, which is only a 45 minute train ride away and very reasonable to get to. It goes without saying that they were extremely respectful of our house and left it beautifully. We would recommend Hilary and John wholeheartedly as affable and experienced swappers and would be very happy to return to their abode in the future.
Royal Tunbridge Wells - we'd go again!
and that statement speaks volumes..... We had a really relaxing and enjoyable week staying in Hilary and John's home. Situated in a lovely part of Kent with lots to do and see nearby. Being members of the National Trust there are lots of NT sites to visit which will keep you as busy as you want to be. Perfectly situated for a 30 min stroll into Tunbridge Wells visiting The Pantiles for a coffee or stronger and then futher into town for all the usual shops but also many local privately owned places for something that little bit different. Hilary and John's supply ideas of places to go and things to do kept us busy all week. When not out and about we enjoyed relaxing in their welcoming home, a real home away from home and we felt really comfortable. Thank you Hilary and John for a great exchange, until next time.....
A wonderful home and exchange
Our exchange with Hilary and John was absolutely lovely, a delicious, welcoming meal and wine with local gifts was all very thoughtful. The house was spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming with every need and comfort you could possibly need. The area of Royal Tunbridge Wells where Hilary and John live is very central, yet with lots of lovely walks and green spaces. So peaceful and quiet, but only a 20 minute stroll into the centre. We really enjoyed visiting the National Trust houses and gardens locally although too many to do in one week! Feel a need to return in the near future. We enjoyed the gin festival that was on in the town and visited the theatre to see a comedy evening which was extremely funny. Would have no hesitation in recommending a visit to this lovely home. A beautiful and warm family home!
A warm and welcoming family home, ideally equipped for a family. Perfect location for exploration of Kent and East Sussex and its historic sites and gardens. Hilary and John are experienced and have been on homelink for years which is evident as they did an excellent job to make us feel welcome in their beautiful home.
Our exchange to Hilary and John's home in Tunbridge Wells was most enjoyable. Unusually for us, we had two well-behaved grandsons with us and there was lots of room for them to 'do their thing' separately from us. We enjoyed hot weather, so were mostly away from the house, but we could see that the comfortable conservatory would be a great place to be if the weather were at all inclement. A highlight was lighting the log fire in the summer house in the evening, roasting marsh mallows ad playing rummy together. The house is beautifully equipped making it very easy for us to self-cater. Finally, on our return, our house was just as we'd left it. Thank you, Hilary and John, for enabling us to have a very happy week.

Lovely house and surroundings
Hilary and John have a lovely home, comfortable, with a lot of charm. It's very clean and convenient. It’s ideally located to visit Eastern England and go to visit London by train during week-end (much cheaper). Many thanks to them who made this exchange such a pleasant experience. We would definitely recommend this house exchange.
