  • Beautiful and historic Verona

We stayed two weeks at Francesco and Cinzia’s beautiful and spacious apartment in Verona. From there we explored Verona on foot and using the excellent and cheap bus services. The location on Via San Marco was great as we could walk to the piazza at St Zena’s Cathedral where we tasted excellent food and wine which was nicely priced. We also walked to and from the Arena where we attended to great concerts. A train trip to Bologna for the Banksy Art exhibition was a further highlight. The apartment, which thankfully had air conditioning (very hot this year in Verona), was perfect for our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed our interactions with Francescoand Cinzia during our stay at their place. A great exchange.

  • A welcoming and well-appointed family home!

We had a great stay at Francesco and Cinzia's home in Verona, our first swap with Homelink and we couldn't have hoped for better! The apartment is very well appointed - two bathrooms (vital), great wifi (extremely vital) - and worked perfectly for us and our two teenagers. There is a large balcony which was great to sit out on later in the evening to eat and have a drink. Italy was VERY hot when we were there, and we were very grateful for the efficient a/c in the flat. We were also very appreciative of the variety of snacks and well-stocked fridge our hosts had left for us! Getting into town was easy, using two bus routes (mostly air conditioned), and there is a lovely local district (San Zeno) with great restaurants and ice cream ten minutes away on foot. The local information that Francesco provided was extremely useful and communication was excellent both in the run-up to and during our stay. Verona is a beautiful city with so many interesting cultural and historic sites to visit as well as other towns and Lake Garda easily reachable by train. A wonderful swap in every way.

  • Beautiful, modern and comfortable apartment

We arrived in a spacious and modern apartment, with all facilities (and more). We enjoyed the place and the Pannetone left us :-) You can easily reach the city centre by car or bus. Verona is a beautiful city. We especially loved walking in the old town and on the bridges. Going up the hills is also recomended for the view. Rossini Family are really nice people, they recomended us lots of things to do, and we apreciated tasting the italian food they left us.

  • Perfect hosts in a beautiful city

Cari Francesco e Cinzia, Grazie mille per questa meravigliosa vacanza! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and for making us feel at home from day one. Verona is a beautiful city with many great sites to visit and it was the perfect pied à terre to discover the region. Thanks to this exchange, we discovered Mantova, Padova, Vicenza and Venezia, which were easily accessible by train. And because you trusted me with your car, we were able to visit a parmesan factory near Modena, roam through the hills of Valpolicella and hike at Lago Garda. We will come back to the States full of wonderful memories that will keep us going once school starts, and once winter is upon us. Arrivederci! Sophie

  • A lovely family home in a very beautiful city

One of the joys of home swapping is being able to spend two weeks getting to know a city which we might otherwise only have visited for a long weekend. Verona definitely merits much more than just a pit stop. We were still finding surprises on the last day of our holiday. The Rossini family's spacious apartment is well appointed and equipped and is conveniently located in a quiet neighbourhood just outside the old city walls. The roomy balcony/terrace is perfect for outdoor family meals and benefits from a pleasant breeze in the evenings. In cooler weather, we would have walked everywhere but the frequent no 11 bus was a comfortable way to get to the city centre in the heat - a 10 minute ride to Piazza Bra and the Arena (Roman amphitheatre) and even quicker to the main railway station. Our sons used the electric Lime scooters and Verona bikes which were always available just round the corner from the apartment. Our car free holiday included easy day trips by train to Venice, Brescia (for the impressive Romanesque cathedral and Roman ruins) and the cooling waters of Lake Garda. Vicenza and Padua were also on our list but we over relaxed! Highlights in Verona were the opera in the Arena, the views of the city from the Roman theatre and from the top of the funicular, and walks along the river by Castel Vecchio. We enjoyed sampling traditional Veronese cuisine and the excellent local wines and ice cream. Special mentions go to the Rossinis' super helpful neighbour, Michelle, to the Antica Pasticceria on via San Marco for delicious breakfasts and sweet treats, and to the Double Clutch basketball shop (our older son's idea of paradise). Grazie mille to Francesco, Cinzia, Frederico and Lorenzo for their friendly hospitality, helpful notes and tips and great communication throughout and for leaving our house so clean and tidy. This was one of our most enjoyable swaps to date. Very best wishes from Anne,Tim, Will, James and Maja.

  • Tradizione e innovazione a Verona

  • We spent a lovely vacation in Verona. The apartment is beautiful, cosy, full of light and very well located in a very nice neighbourhood. Francesco and his family offered us a lot of information as well recommendations on local restaurants and places to visit and helped us during our stay. We have fallen in love with the city of Verona and would like to say thank you and your neighbour again! Verona is perfect for a vacation with kids and we definitely will come back :)

  • We loved Verona and the Rossini's apartment

We had a great holiday in Verona, the apartment was very attractive and well prepared with everything we needed. Excellent public transport nearby into the City Centre or you can walk in in about 30 minutes. Verona has a multitude of beautiful buildings, many of them ancient, a beautiful river running through it; mountains in the distance and lovely hills with Cypress trees. The Italian coffee culture is fun and wine delicious. Thank you very much.

  • We really liked the flat!

The flat is big and comfortable. The beds were good to sleep in and the city center was easy to reach by bus. We can recommend this family and their flat!

  • Italy at its best!

Dear Rossini family, We had a great exchange to Verona and enjoyed the city, the touristic sites, the Osterias, and the shopping every day of our visit. The day trip to Venice during the Easter weekend was certainly a challenge, but it trained our ability to share space with others! We found your home very suiteable for home exchange and we can recommend you as reliable exchange partners. Thanks very much!

  • A splendid Italian experience.

Dear Francesco & Cinzia & kids, thanks a lot for the stay in your lovely flat. It's perfectly situated within walking and biking distance to the old historic, and very beautiful, city of Verona. And at the same time it's very easy to leave the town by car or by train and reach quite shortly the Garda lake and the picturesque countryside around. Very easy also to reach the amazing cities of Mantova, Vicenza, Padova and even Venezia. We also spend some nice evenings on your nice balcony eating and reading. Once again a splendid Italian experience. Best regards from the Salling family from Paris !
