St Albans is a vibrant town full of history, charm and culture that is a gem to visit in itself. It has a large and lively Cathedral that hosts the International Organ Festival every summer, a huge number of restaurants, cafes and shops as well as a food & clothes market twice a week.
Surrounded by countryside yet close to London, it has excellent road, rail and air transport links making it a very popular place to live or visit: central London (20-30 mins by train) Luton Airport (15 mins by train), Heathrow (30 mins by road), it sits next to both the M1 and M25 making it accessible to Legoland, Thorpe Park, Windsor Castle etc, and has a direct train to central London or all the way through to Brighton on the south coast. Cambridge is only an hour's drive away which makes a great day out.
London Colney is a large village with its own convenience shops, a bakery, a lovely café and authentic Italian pizzeria, several traditional pubs and a pretty green area next to a river leading to a nature reserve/lakes that are good for walking or fishing. There are tennis courts free to use 10 mins walk away. There is also a large shopping centre, Colney Fields, with clothes shops and a supermarket that is a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive.
Our road is quiet and our neighbours at no. 19 and no. 17 are friendly and very helpful.
