- What a treat to stay in such a homy and unique house, watching the boats in the cove, sunsets and sunrises! And thanks again for sharing your friends as well, perfect guides to the island. It was quite an experience, which will stay with me for a long time.

The house in on the water in Winter Cove, on a quiet country road. Saturna Island is the most south eastern of the southern gulf islands. A large proportion of the island is in the National Park Reserve, due to the special ecosystem of this area - low rainfall, mild climate. Wonderful hiking, bicycling, boating and peaceful enjoyment. There is a small permanent population, with a good quality grocery store, pub, liquor store, and cafes. See www.saturnatourism.com for information.

The location is on Winter Cove, a marine park and with views to islands, park, and across the Salish Sea to the mountains of the mainland on a clear day. Walk short distances on a country road to a sandy west facing beach at Veruna Bay, or to woods and shoreline trails in the national park on Winter Cove, or kayak the Winter Cove shoreline. Drive or bicycle the Salish Sea shoreline to East Point, a gorgeous grassy headland with rocky and sandy shores, lighthouse and the best opportunities for whale sightings. See www.saturnatourism.com
