We live at Clifton Beach which is a popular surf beach 30k SE of Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania - travelling time 30 minutes.
Our home is modern, fully insulated, double glazed passive solar design and is both quiet and warm. Heat pumps are installed for dealing with the cold or hot days.
As a point of interest the kitchen benches are made of Huon pine and the slow growing timber in these is at least 500 years old. The house has an up to date security system. There are three balconies around the house allowing you to choose the most comfortable location in any weather.
And speaking of weather, the latitude of Southern Tasmania is 43 degrees south which is the same as the South of France which is at 43 degrees north. We have mild summers and winters - very pleasant living. For example, while it snows on the higher mountains in winter, it does not snow at our place alongside the ocean
A car, bicycles (inc. a tandem) and surfboards are available for use. We also have a large screen TV and entertainment equipment, and broadband Internet connection.
There is easy access to all the major tourist attractions in the SE corner of the state - world famous Port Arthur www.portarthur.org.au to the Huon Valley and D'Entrecasteaux Channel www.huontrail.org.au leading to the SW wilderness area.
There are also many tourist attractions around the state on the West Coast as well as the North and the sunny East coast where the Freycinet Peninsula/Wineglass Bay is located. Perfect scenery and the best weather in the state.
