Our neighbourhood is very quiet. We have friendly and obliging neighbours (next door neighbour will be advised of any home exchange stay).
Mauguio, with 15000 inhabitants, has a pleasant Mediterranean old village center, which is 10 mn walk, with shops, pubs, restaurants and celebrated Sunday market.
Mauguio is the main city of the area of big tarn of Or, which is a fertile basin with market gardening (cheap melons and strawberries).
The village of Mauguio include the seaside resort of Carnon (15 mn drive) and the Montpellier airport (only 10 mn drive, but we don’t hear the planes).
Mauguio is near from Montpellier, a city of character, with sumptuous private mansions, an Arc de Triomphe and a Place Royale du Peyrou erected to the glory of Louis XIV, medieval alleys in the pedestrian city centre, the oldest faculty of medicine in the world, and also a modern metropolis, open to contemporary architecture, science, contemporary culture and leisure, with colourful trams, street art, contemporary architecture... As it can be tiring to live days and nights in Montpellier, the life in Mauguio is more peaceful, and Mauguio is one of the most sought-after areas of Montpellier district.
