We often walk into the Magnolia village to enjoy a cappuccino and a croissant at the bakery or a treat at the gelateria. The village has cute restaurants, shops, and coffee houses and is an easy 1.4 mile/ 2.2 km walk. We also love to walk to the nearby Ballard Locks where you can watch the ships go through the canals, see the salmon swimming through the fish ladder, and enjoy the Botanical Gardens. Downtown Ballard is a fun, trendy spot for nightlife, shops, and great food and is 3 miles (4.8 km) from our home.

Downtown Seattle is a quick 5 mile (8 km) car or bus ride away. John runs a prominent theatre downtown where we can offer you tickets to see a play while you are here. We also have lots of connections at the other theatre companies and the opera if you'd like us to help you see other shows. Seattle has world class symphony, ballet, opera, and theatrical offerings as well as an incredible food scene.
