My partner Marie-Laure (former high-school teacher) and I (former business manager) are both retired. We live in 2 apartments (ground and top floor) of the house. We love home exchange because it gives us the opportunity to stay longer at interesting places and to immerse in daily life.We like to discover a city or an area, its history, development and residents by walking around with open eyes, visiting museums and art galleries and going to theaters and concerts. Between 2008 and 2016 we have done 33 exchanges. Sometimes Marie-Laure is busy at home looking after one or two of her grand children and joins me for parts of the exchanges. Non - simultaneous exchanges possible.

Was für eine schöne Wohnung, um Freiburg zu erkunden! 10 Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Münster und der Blick aus Küchen- und Schlafzimmerfenster geht direkt auf den gegenüberliegenden Weinberg. Nicht zu vergessen das sonnendurchflutete Zimmer auf dem Dach mit der großzügigen Dachterrasse. Besser kann man es nicht haben! Und wenn das Wetter mal nicht mitspielt, dann gibt es eine riesige Menge von DVDs, CDs und Bücher aller Art. Unser Tausch war ein Genuss!

Unser Wochenendtausch mit Wolf und Marie-Laure war toll. Die Wohnung, die Umgebung einfach super. Die Dachterasse herrlich, der bereit gestellte Wein "süffig". Alles war da, alles parat, nur schade hatten wir nicht mehr Zeit. In Wolfs Wohnung könnte man Wochen verbringen mit lesen, Musik hören und DVD`s schauen. Die Vorbereitung ganz unkompliziert, man merkt, die beiden sind echte Haustauschprofis! Gerne kommen wir wieder, vielen, vielen Dank!

sorry - no more exchanges in 2020. My apartment is ideal for 2 persons and not suitable for groups /families of more than 3 persons. ( A third person my sleep on a sleeping sofa or an inflatable bed).
My apartment is on the 4th floor (sorry, no elevator) of a 1900 Jugendstil-house, totally renovated in 2000 with roof-top one bedroom apartment newly constructed. Small loft on level 1 and wintergarden with open terrace on level 2.(Size 95 sq.m.,1000 sq.ft.).Terrace just opposite the Schlossberg - vineyard - looking east to black-forest and west to the French Vosges. Freiburg, black-forest-capital(www.freiburg.de) with 220.000 residents is a university-town (30.000 students) with nice old-town-neighbourhood. Freiburg has become one of the most sought after cities in Germany ( second highest realty prices of all german cities behind Munich ) for its life style. Warmest year average climate of all german cities ! Our house is a 5 min.-walk to old-town-center with theaters, cinemas and many restaurants. Freiburg is situated in the south-western 3-country-triangle, 50 km to Switzerland or France - 25 km to ski-resort Hinterzarten or Titisee (www.titisee.de) and in the middle of Europe: Distances to other cities (in km): Basel 60, Zuerich 150, Bern 160, Heidelberg 180, Stuttgart 200, Munich 400, Milano 400 (all on motorway or fast ICE-trains )Paris in 3 hours per train. Car-exchange possible.Probably You won´t need the car in Freiburg, but it is nice to get around to the Black-Forest or Switzerland or France.
Always open for 7 to 10 - day European exchanges (London,Paris, Ireland, Venice,Istambul, Berlin, Hamburg etc.).
