An authentic valley, a beautiful site, exceptionally sunny. One of the best preserved Swiss alpine valleys, the landscape moulded by human activity over centuries, an exceptionally picturesque heritage. The hamlet of Les Haudères and in the commune of Evolène, with its old chalets with carved facades and painted blazonries, its granaries (“raccards”), its barns and stables, its lofts and its "mayens," takes you back to a rural world which is still very much alive, where one can enjoy a moment of calm and serenity.
In summer one can enjoy magnificent summits to admire or to survey on foot or mountain bike. The most prestigious is the Dent Blanche. In the summer, there are 250 kilometers of pedestrian paths,100 kilometers of trails marked for mountain bikes, tennis, fishing, and a via Ferrata for thrill-seekers.
In winter, The valley offers visitors a ski pass for the Dent Blanche ski resort (Evolène, Arolla, and La Forclaz) with more than 100 kilometers of remarkable trails for all ages and levels. It is also the starting point for cross-country skiing in dramatic countryside. In this idyllic context , apart from numerous snowshoeing trails, you will find two of the most beautiful cross-country ski trails of central Valais. You will be able to enjoy two natural skating rinks and you can try climbing up ice waterfalls. The region of Evolène offers a variety of cultural entertainment possibilities all year round: its fascinating Alpine carnival, its museums, and cow fights (“combats de Reines”), as well as very many themed excursions. And in winter, there are weekly entertainment activities, such as moonlight downhill skiing processions by torchlight.
The apartment is the upper floor of an old chalet built in 1863. Fully restored and furnished with local alpine furnitures, it is very comfortable and very well equipped. Central heating system plus an old traditional stone stove in the living room.
