Joie de Vivre is a lovely two-bedroomed cottage in a small peaceful hamlet located near the medieval town of St Jean D'Angely. It is located in countryside of farmland and vineyards between La Rochelle and Cognac. It is within easy reach of the coast and to La Rochelle and to the seaside resorts of the Gironde, such as St Palais sur Mer and La Palmyre. The Ile de Re is also easily accessible for lovely bikes rides and beaches. The house has a light and airy feel and modern style but also has traditional beams, stone walls, an open plan layout downstairs and log burner. There is an above ground pool in the summer months for your own use, plus a patio next to a barn with sunbeds, bikes and BBQ. The house is on a no-through road leading to a farm and cow barn, so there is very little traffic. The River Boutonne is close by for nice walks and cycle rides by the river. PLEASE NOTE that Joie de Vivre is our holiday home and is usually occupied or rented out in the high summer season (July and August), but is often available for home swaps at other times.
