Beskrivelse af vores byttebolig
Our home is an A-frame cottage, with an addition, which we have lovingly renovated over the years. It has a rustic charm (with cedar boards lining the ceiling and many walls) but with all the modern amenities. It's perfectly suited for families. There's a loft-type bedroom for adults (queen bed), and two children's rooms (one with a twin loft bed, the other with two-twin bunk set-up), and a basement guest room (double bed). There are lots of toys and games available. There is a fireplace, piano, and two-person sauna. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooks. The space is lovely for relaxing, and working. Beautiful back deck with concrete & cedar table that seats 10, and garden in the front.
Our house is perfectly situated to access the urban amenities of Calgary and the outdoor amenities of Kananaskis Country and Banff National Park. It's usually a 35-40 minute drive to these places, so you will need a car at our house (car arrangements possible), but there are also walks around the village that are delightful -- especially along the lake with views to the Canadian Rockies. Our home is a great base for skiing -- we are 35 minutes from Nakiska, 45 minutes for Norquay, 60 minutes from Sunshine, and 80 minutes from Lake Louise. There are also hikes and ice-climbing in the Ghost Wilderness to the north.

Beskrivelse af omegn
Ghost Lake Village is a community of about 70 homes, tucked onto the shores of the Ghost Reservoir, formed by a dam in the Bow River. About one-third of the homes are occupied year-round, the rest are primarily weekend and summer cottages. There is a public walking path along the shore of the lake in the village, a small kids beach, playground, tennis courts, and a put-put golf "course." There is no commercial activity in the village, and the nearest grocery store is 20 minutes away, in Cochrane, AB.
