We retired early and have been enjoying the fun of home exchanging for sometime now. We enjoy exploring new places and their attractions, experiencing the local foods and markets and relaxing into the homes of our exchangers.
So far we have enjoyed 50 exchanges with some lovely people and are looking forward to many more.
Our party of travellers usually ranges from 2-4-6 people.

Spectacular water views, huge modern apartment with own lift and large shared pool.
Our home is situated in Sylvania, a pretty southern suburb of Sydney. Sylvania spans the land between two bridges crossing the Georges River (which leads into Botany Bay) so a large part of it is surrounded by water which adds to its relaxed atmosphere.
Here is a description of our home layout....
Top floor -
Great water views encompassing Kangaroo Point, Bald Face Point and the city skyline from our 100sq metre terrace and also the lounge room.
Large lounge and dining room leading out to the terrace with relaxing lounge and dining area with kabana and BBQ overlooking the river. So nice to wind down in a quiet peaceful space with a glass of wine after a busy day.
Sparkling modern, airy kitchen with integrated fridge, huge cooker, dishwasher etc.
Powder room with toilet and handbasin.
Beyond the kitchen you will find another terrace (shaded) to escape the hot summer sun.
Lift - direct access.
Middle Floor -
3 large bedrooms - 2 queen beds, 1 single bed that converts to a large queen bed.
2 bathrooms - one of which is ensuite to the main bedroom and 2nd large bathroom services bedrooms 2 and 3.
Laundry with with new front loading washing machine and condenser dryer.
Another large north facing courtyard decorated with leafy plants on this level allows light to flow into the bedrooms through the sliding doors. Its a great place to relax with a coffee and a good book.

Bottom floor -
our private internal lift services our home directly from our secure 4 car garage.
Our home is air-conditioned and also has overhead fans fitted.
Also access to the large common pool and gym room.
All in all a great place to relax and unwind in a tranquil peaceful atmosphere but close to everything

Sylvania is a relaxed safe, leafy suburb surrounded by waterways offering all the facilities you need.
You can walk to Southgate Shopping Centre in less than 5 minutes from our home....so supermarkets, butcher, fishmonger, bakery, newsagent, shops, bank, hairdresser, beauty salon, gym, chemist, doctor and a ten pin bowling alley are right there.
There are lots of little cafes around and great local restaurants (some you can easily walk to) and also some are BYO (bring your own wine and they charge you a small corkage fee - very popular here in Australia and it makes a night out much cheaper). Many clubs and hotels are very close by - golf, bowls, RSL and football clubs.
If you want a huge shopping centre Miranda Fair is less than 10 minutes drive away (or take the bus) with all the shops you could want, movie theatres and dining options.
At Como Marina, which is close to our home, you can hire a small boat to explore the river.
The Royal National Park is 15 minutes by car with beautiful bush, rainforest and coastal walks, beaches, picnic areas, boating etc.
We even have a little sandy beach area about 5 minutes drive away from our home.
Also the surf beaches of Cronulla are 15 minutes away by car. Here you will find many great restaurants. You can catch a ferry from Gunnamatta wharf to visit Bundeena or to explore Port Hacking.
A favourite walk at at Cronulla takes you around the beaches and the headland leading into Port Hacking.
The calmer beaches and restaurants of Botany Bay are 20 minutes by car.
And all the delights of Sydney and its spectacular Harbour are just a train ride away.
We also keep an information and map file in the office space showing lots of day trips and suggestions of things to see in Sydney and its surrounds.

Our apartment at Sylvania has a golf course within 5 minutes drive, 3 large shopping malls (two with movies) close by, lots of local restaurants within 10 minutes walk or a short drive,, local pubs with good food , take a stroll across Como to Oatley footbridge to the other side of the river, Como reserve has a lovely playground, BBQs, coffee shops and Thai restaurant.
We even have a small sandy beach on Holt Point Place, Sylvania - good for kids as the water is very calm.
15 Minute drive to surf beaches of Cronulla or calm beaches of Botany Bay. The Royal National Park is 15 minute drive away.
Plus all the delights of Sydney City are only a train ride away...so no need to drive and fight the traffic.

We, Lyn and Jed, usually travel with another couple or one of our adult children and their spouse but sometimes there is just the two of us.
So our party could consist of 2, 4 or 6 people. We have 2 grandchildren who we love to take on trips. We ask all smokers to please smoke outside the house.
