We have two adult children and two grandchildren 10 and 11 years. Our first exchange was a teacher exchange to to Sitka on Baronoff Island Alaska (Russian capital) arranged annually by the Education Dept.Victoria when our 2 children were primary students. We enjoyed this unique 12 month experience including travelling through some of Canada and USA during the long summer holiday. This experience lead us to Homelink once we were retired.

We have been enthusiastic HomeLinkers since 1997, having been on 16 exchanges to date!
Relaxing and inviting well placed in bayside suburb of Melbourne. 5 minutes away: travel south east past clean safe beaches to the Mornington Peninsula. This is a prime Victorian wine growing area in beautiful countryside. Most have excellent restaurants.The opposite way: Beach Road goes to busy interesting St.Kilda. Sample food at "Donovan's" facing the beach. Walking / bicycle paths both ways on Beach Rd, or walk the clean sands.

Our neighbourhood of Cheltenham has a village appeal including a butcher, greengrocer, bakeries and a french patisserie, liquor outlets, numerous cafes and some restaurants, post office and newsagent. Personal/Health wise include chemists, hairdressers, osteopaths within close proximity. All tend to be small business owners, helpful and friendly. Cheltenham Park is near by with green spaces and small native bushland walk. A large Shopping Mall/Complex (Southland) with cinemas is 10mins walk. We are 5 minutes by car to the beach. The Mentone , Beaumaris and Black Rock Beaches were captured by the important Heidelberg group of late 19th century artists who often camped in the surrounding bushland. Their paintings are held by all the major Australian Art Galleries.
