Beskrivelse af vores byttebolig

We are privileged to live in a harbourside suburb of Sydney, only nine kilometres northeast of the city centre. Castlecrag stands on a beautiful peninsula jutting into Sydney's Middle Harbour.
The suburb's unusual layout, its preserved bushland, traditions and character are largely due to the efforts of two people - the American architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin. The Griffins came to Australia in 1914, having won an international competition to design Australia's new national capital, Canberra. The genesis of Castlecrag began in the 1920s, when it was developed by the Griffins to be a "model suburb" in which the houses and landscape would be in harmony with each other.
Castlecrag is still a suburb of less than a thousand houses located less than fifteen minutes drive from Sydney's central business district and ten minutes from its famous bridge. The careful planning and the conservation of the natural bushland enable its residents to enjoy a rich diversity of fauna and flora, available through the many hectares of healthy Australian bushland. This area is covered with native gum trees, grevilleas and banksias, and inhabited by kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets, sulphur crested cockatoos, native ringtail possums and water dragons amongst others.
An added bonus is the excellent small shopping centre nearby, offering several restaurants, a patisserie, two delicatessens, a convenient supermarket (Coles Express) as well as a fitness centre and other ancillary services.
An hourly bus service across the Harbour Bridge to the city centre and the Sydney Opera House is also available.
