In case of problems you can get advice from Agnese's parents in the neighboring house; the father also speaks german. The somewhat distant village is very charmingly located with many good restaurants. A car or bicycles is recommended to explore the wider area (Monselice, Padua, Este, Montagnana). Bike tours to these cities are easy or even in the hills or in the Po Delta are possible. We got to know and appreciate Agnese as a helpful, committed woman. We wish her and the three children all the best.

Read More...This was my first exchange. I have always loved Italy. And I like birds. So I was very much looking forward to the Eugenean Hills and the Po delta. The trip to the home of the Zoggias was picturesque. Hills, villages. A lot of green. Vineyards. Then the house: In the middle of a garden of old olive trees. A hammock fixed between two of them. The house itself very firendly, open. We could see the Zoggias had taste. And that they liked food and drink. They had prepared pasta,, left us prosciutto, beer, ice cream. Miriam showed us around, took a lot of time to give us instructions and made sure we felt welcome. The little village is marvellous. Very nice restaurants. We tried a different one every time we went out. And we used the nice kitchen in the house to cook. then sit out in the garden to eat. We went to a winery and bought excellent wine. We tried so many different wines that we were tipsy that day. And we took long walks across the hills. Agnese and her family did everything to make us feel comfortable! The only thing missing was the family itself. We could imagine the children running around the table, filled with cucina italiana.

The contact with Agnese was very friendly and although we did not meet, we are sure that the Zoggias are a very nice family. We were warmly welcomes in a beautiful newly built home where you will find everything you need. We got well prepared information. Arqua Petrarca is a picturesque village in the Euganeans hills, offering endless opportunities for cycling and hiking. We visited Padua, Ferrara and Vicenza and were impressed by the art treasures, architecture and liveliness of these cities. It is easy to get there by train. The Zoggia family treated our house with the utmost care and greeted us with lasagna and homemade sweets in the fridge. All in all, this exchange was a highlight.

Beskrivelse af omegn
We live in a small and enchanting medieval village, recently honoured as one of the "Borghi più belli d'Italia".
Arquà Petrarca and its beautiful countryside are the ideal place to “be in jujube soup” – i.e. go into ecstasy -: a beautiful ancient village, amazing landscape, excellent food and wine and in the neighborhood relaxing thermal baths, art and history, trekking and cycling ways, golfing, music and folklore all year long.
The jujube is the queen of Arquà, which in Autumn holds a festival in honor of this fruit.
People are friendly and helpful.
Have a look at our little town!

Vores lokale tips for muligheder, steder at besøge, mens du er i vor bolig
Very close to Padua (30m) and to Venice (60m), the Euganean hills are both one of the most famous spa regions in Europe thanks to their thermal waters and a popular hiking area. 16 trails lead over the various hilltops, providing not only a relaxing activity but a consistent and magnificent panoramic view of the region.
The entire region was declared "Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei" national park, trying to keep the holiday paradise intact.
Very close are also Ferrara with its Castle and Verona, where at the Arena you can listen to the authentic Italian Opera and where you can amuse your children at Gardaland resort!
Closer (10-15 minutes by car) there are some little jewels: Monselice with its medieval castle Ca' Marcello, Este with its beautiful gardens, Valsanzibio and its maze, Praglia's Abbey, Catajo's Castle... A lot to do both for adults and for children!
And after a trip or a trail... taste our excellent wine in a typical Osteria and italian food in a sophisticated Ristorante. But if you want to experience a real popular activity, go to a local Sagra and taste our regional plates sitting at the same table with Venetians :-)
