We live semi-rurally, but in fact only a 10 minute drive from Lower Hutt city and 25 minutes from Wellington city centre. Nearby is a regional park. You will need a car to get around or to get to a bus stop or train stop (Five minute drive). You will need to be a confident driver on our hill, but there are on 14 homes, so there isn't very much traffic. You can often see the neighbours sheep, alpacas or chickens wander past our lounge window. There is some good mountain biking and hiking within a 20 minute drive. There is also a flat gentle river walk and bike lane both north and south.
