We are retired teachers who enjoy travelling, good food and wine, culture, nature, gardening, golf, art and photography. We have visited many different countries in the world since we began house exchange in 1987.

Beskrivelse af vores byttebolig
We have a large modern house with all amenities and garden in a pretty village. We have 3 bedrooms . all of which have a king-size bed, 2.5 bathrooms, modern kitchen, living/dining room and sunroom. There is satellite tv and wi-fi fibre internet access. It is a very comfortable house. Outside is a SW facing colourful garden with lawn and a sunny patio and outdoor furniture.
We also have a double sofa bed downstairs in the living room if necessary.
We have a cat (Milo) who is very easy to look after, likes people apart from very young children.

Our house is in a quiet cul-de-sac and within walking distance of a supermarket, pharmacy, post office, 3 pubs and 2 cafes and a coffee shop/deli. There are walks by the river 5 minutes away. It is easy to get into Nottingham with a frequent bus service . Nottingham is a vibrant city with lots of shopping, entertainment, sporting opportunities and eating facilities. It is a centre of culture and history. There are four theatres a number of cinemas. There is attractive countryside on our doorstep and we are within an hour of many places with historical, cultural and shopping opportunities, such as the Peak District, National Trust properties, Lincoln, Stamford and other places too numerous to list.

Nottingham is a vibrant with lots of good shops, many good restaurants, several cinemas, two theatres, various sporting venues and historical places such as The Castle, The Galleries of Justice and the Caves which go underneath the city. Nottingham Castle has undergone a major refit and has a multi-media exhibition. Within easy reach are Southwell, Sherwood Forest, Peak District of Derbyshire, Stamford ( a beautiful town with very distinctive architecture) and Lincoln ( with it's castle, world-famous cathedral and unique shops). We are surrounded by attractive countryside and villages. A day trip away are York, Cambridge, Oxford, Stratford, Warwick and other places too numerous to list.
Our village is well connected to Nottingham and Southwell and has itself a supermarket, pharmacy, take-away food establishments and cafes.

We are unable to exchange from mid July to the end of August. We are experienced exchangers (40 exchanges) and are used to taking care of other homes. We have a cat who is very friendly but doesn't like young children.
