We had a great exchange with the Knorr family. We loved their spacious home, garden and its closeness to walking trails in the Dönche. We found it very easy to take a bus to the train station to visit surrounding beautiful towns. It was easy to communicate with the Knorrs leading up to the exchange. We found our house in a great condition when we returned.

Beskrivelse af vores byttebolig

Hello, we would like to make a home exchange for 3 to 6 months and would prefer USA and Canada in 2022. We are a family with 4 children between 7 and 15 years old. If you are interested, just contact us for more information or photos.

Our family house, built in 1939, is located in the 'garden district' Brasselsberg, a calm and noble suburb of Kassel. Kassel is the capital of North Hesse, the region where the grimms' fairy tales come from. Situated in the middle of Germany and Europe the area is rich in history and culture, but also has a very beautiful natural landscape. The central location of the city is of course also perfect for traveling in all directions.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site "Bergpark" is within walking distance from our house. During summer 2022 there will be the famous `Documenta-Exhibition` of modern arts in Kassel, attracting people from all over the world.
In our house there are three floors, 10 rooms (6 bedrooms), a garden and two garages.

A few meters away is one of the largest inner-city nature reserves in Europe, the Dönche. Also within walking distance is the hilly 'Habichtswald' forest. A few streets away there is a small grocery store, Italian restaurant and doctor's offices. The city center can be reached within 20 minutes by public transport.

Kassel has a very high density of museums, including the oldest museum in Europe `Fridericanicum`, the Brothers Grimm Museum and a Rembrandt exhibition.
The highlight in the summer of 2022 is the Documenta.
The 'Bergpark' with the statue of Hercules, the fountains and Wilhelmshöhe Castle as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many towns in the beautiful surrounding area have retained their medieval character, such as Hannoversch Münden and Fritzlar. The central ICE train station allows a fast connection to Berlin (2h), Hamburg (3h), Frankfurt (1,5h), Munich (4h).
