Eileen is a retired teacher and educational researcher and Rob, who died recently,was pharmaceutical chemist and university lecturer. I have a daughter, son in law who live close by and five adult grandchildren. My interests include theatre, movies, Zumba, reading, sewing and painting. Our home is in a quiet cul de sac, built on three floors overlooking a bush reserve. Entry is at street level to garage or lobby. The lounge, dining room, kitchen, laundry and bathroom 1 are at ground level. Downstairs to a bedroom and computer room/ study overlooking bush. Upstairs to main bedrooms and bathroom. Wood burner in lounge (picture 4), heat pumps in computer room and dining room. Drive in garage. Our home is a five minute walk to beach, shops, post office, wine bar, bistro, tennis court, park, fish and chip shop and bus stop. Half hourly bus service connects with marine gardens, swimming pool, local shopping mall, local airport and railway station. Half hourly train service to Wellington, daily train service and frequent bus services to the north. The local airport has regular flights to Auckland and the South Island.

The local airport has frequent flights to Auckland and the South Island and has gliding and helicopter services. Within 10 km are marine and wetland sanctuaries and car, tramway, telephone and airport museums. Within 20 km there is sailing, trout fishing, white-water rafting and kayaking. Wellington has many theatres, museums, sporting events and nightclubs.
