We loved our time (3 weeks) that we lived at Dragon Place in Taiping. The house is very special, not a standard house at all. There are so many great corners. One of our favourite places for the upper teracce from there you have a 360 degree view over the whole area. In the garden passion fruit, rambutan, guaves... were growing, our boys had the chance to catch some of the fish next to the house, there are plenty of bedrooms, a very nice kitchen as well living and dining room. We also enjoyed the luxury of having Ms. Poh around us. Despite the house and garden we also liked the area a lot - Taiping being a city of just over 200000 inhabitants, very easy to get around, no long distances eg in case you want to go to the market, get some cooked dishes, go to Lake Gardens or the rainforest behind Taiping. We really got an impression of the life there. It was easy to get in contact with the locals who were curious and enjoyed having a chat. Taiping is called the rain city of Malaysia. Quite often it builds up in the afternoon and than rains heavily for maybe an hour. All in all the climat is pretty warm and humid. You do move slower... but we didnt mind the weather, actually our kids loved it to play in the rain we also stayed 10 days in one of Kevin and Tings appartements at the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, which was so different, hadnt planned it like that at first - but are very glad we had this experience as well in addition to all these facts we loved the contact with Kevin and Ting. Kevin picked us up from the airport, Ting had prepared some food and over the whole time of our exchange we stayed in contact with them - hope we will do in future as well :-) also enjoyed the option of meeting some of their friends and experiencing the malayian culture even more like this once we were there really had a great time!
