Beskrivelse af vores byttebolig
We have a beautiful old family house, dating from 1830, in Portobello, Edinburgh's seaside. We have four bedrooms, all with working shutters. Our bedroom has a king size bed, the other three bedrooms have double beds. The house is well-equipped and child-friendly, with an enclosed back garden. We have a family bathroom and a shower room. Many original features including high ceilings, sanded floors and working fireplace.
The street runs down to the beach, with views to Fife. Indoor public swimming pool and gym at the end of the road. 15 mins to Edinburgh's historic city centre, including Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, Arthur's Seat (mountain) and the Scottish Parliament. Portobello has great local shops and cafes, playgrounds and parks. Very safe, friendly area.
Easy access to Glasgow, Scottish countryside and mountains. Excellent base for exploring the Lothians and the Scottish Borders

Portobello is a very friendly, easy-going community. There are lots of cafés and local restaurants, as well as several supermarkets. You can spend a day on the beach, or go along the coast to the beautiful beaches of East Lothian. There's lots for families to do here, with playgrounds, swing parks, the swimming pool and local parks. We often have community events, including music performances on the prom, volleyball competitions and farmers markets.
It's also very easy to get into the centre of Edinburgh, or out to other parts of Scotland, by train or by car.

It's a 20 minute bus journey into the centre of Edinburgh, with a wealth of shops, museums, theatres, cinemas and top visitor attractions including Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood House (home of Mary Queen of Scots), Arthur's Seat and the historic New Town. It's also very easy to travel across Scotland, by train or car. You can get to cities like Glasgow, Perth and Stirling, go south into the Borders or go north into the Highlands. There are world class golf courses a short drive away, as well as beaches and many fabulous walks.
