Salzburg is famous for its cultural history, being the birth place of Mozart and having one of the most famous cultural festivals in Europe (Salzburger Festspiele in August - with classical concerts, operas, theaters etc.). The city of Salzburg offers a beautiful historic center with beautiful churches, houses, museums, etc. From our home you are in 15 minutes in the center by bus.
Salzburg ist also surrounded by mountains where you can hike and enjoy wonderful views. It offers lakes with warm water to go swimming, sailing etc. (Wallersee, Fuschlsee, Mondsee, Obertrumersee). The water quality of the Austrian lakes is extremely good - most of them are cristal clear, but still reach a temperature of 25°C in summer. The neares lake is only 15 minutes drive away.
If you fancy doing alpine walks or hikes you can reach the nearest mountains in about 25 minutes, but you can also go hiking directly from the house - up the hill you will enjoy a wonderful view.
Within 30 minutes you will reach different sights that are unique and special for Salzburg, like the Hangar 7 (old airplanes, formula 1 cars of Red Bull), a salt mine, an old castle (Werfenweng), Europes biggest ice cave, a rural museum of alpine farm houses, the zoo, museums and so on.
