Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

Prescott is an historical town of about 40,000 residents, located 100 miles from Phoenix. In 1864 Prescott was designated as the capital of the Arizona Territory. The Territorial Capital was moved to Tucson in 1867, but Prescott again became the Territorial Capital in 1877 until Phoenix became the capital in 1889. It is a "hometown America" small city with a distinct link to America's "Old West." It is a good base for day- and multi-day trips to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and "Indian Country" including Monument Valley and ancient Hopi mesa villages. Several art gallaries and museums are in town.
